About FTT Finance-To-Thrive

Free business and personal finance calculators for the US and Canada β€” no sign-up, no paywall, no spreadsheet required.

FTT Finance-To-Thrive exists because most people do not need accounting software to answer a single question. They need to know whether a price leaves enough margin, what a paycheque looks like after deductions, how much GST to charge a customer in Manitoba, or what a mortgage payment actually costs each month. Those answers should take fifteen seconds, not fifteen minutes.

Why two countries

Most online calculators quietly assume the United States. Canadian users then get the wrong sales tax, the wrong payroll deductions and β€” in the case of mortgages β€” the wrong compounding convention entirely, because Canadian mortgages compound semi-annually rather than monthly. We built every regional calculator twice so the numbers are right on both sides of the border. The country toggle in the header sets the currency, the terminology and the default tax rates across the whole site, and it remembers your choice as you browse.

Authorship and editorial approach

Articles and calculator explanations are published by FTT Finance-To-Thrive under our organization name. We do not claim professional certification or independent expert review. Regional tax, payroll and mortgage pages link to government agencies and other relevant authorities so you can check the underlying rules.

How to use our calculations

Each calculator explains its formula and assumptions. Results are estimates based on your inputs and the model shown; provincial and state income-tax estimates can omit brackets, credits and local rules. Check the stated tax year and linked authority before using a result. A content date records a page update, not a guarantee that every rate or external source was reviewed on that date.

Corrections

Found an outdated rate or an unexpected result? Please contact us with the page address, your inputs, the expected result and an official reference if available. This helps us identify the calculation or explanation that needs correcting.

What we are not

We are not accountants, tax preparers, mortgage brokers or financial advisors, and nothing on this site is advice. Our calculators are planning tools that use simplified models β€” they exclude many credits, deductions and local rules that apply to individual situations. Before you file, sign or commit money, check the figures with the relevant authority or a licensed professional.

How the site is funded

The calculators are free and always will be. The site is supported by display advertising and by affiliate links to software and services we think are genuinely useful. Read our advertising and affiliate disclosure for the full picture. Advertising never influences a calculation, and ads are kept visually separate from calculator inputs and results.
